Look who's back!
Check out who we found in our camping gear. For those of you who do not know, Fluffly, has been MIA since our last camping trip 3 years ago. We were on a camping trip to South Carolina with the some friends and as we packed up our stuff to head home we realized we could not find him. Well at about 12 o'clock Saturday night as I unfolded the sleeping bag there he was. He was the original Furreal Friend pet and Maddie is so excited to have him back with the family.

Camping at Virginia Beach
Well the Ginters packed up and went to "First Landing State Park" for a night of camping. The weatherman lied to us, we went expecting beautiful weather but that didn't come until about 2 hours before we came home. We had fun none the less. We brought Georgia along and she loved the ocean! She and Maddie played a game of fetch the water bottle and had a blast. Our Richmond friends Dennis and Josie brought their 2 daughters, Sharon & Christina, & their dog "Junior".

Maddie's newest obsession...
With spring finally here, we have had lots of caterpillars. Maddie thinks that she needs to HAVE them all. We have been on several "Nature Walks" to find more caterpillars. Sometimes we did and sometimes we didn't, as you can see in the picture this did not make her happy. Matt got her a little clear plastic house to keep them in and monitor their progress. We now have 5/6 that have their cocoon. She is impatiently awaiting the arrival of the moths. We must check on them several times a day. She would now like to be a scientist when she grows up instead of "a chef on a pirate ship".

I Thought this was funny...
compliments of randomfrogA man was driving along the highway and saw a hare hopping across the middle of the road. He swerved to avoid hitting the hare, but unfortunately the hare jumped in front of the car and was hit. The driver, being a sensitive man as well as an animal lover, pulled over to the side of the road and got out to see what had become of the hare. Much to his dismay, the hare was dead. He felt so awful that he began to cry.A blonde woman driving down the highway saw the man crying on the side of the road and pulled over. She stepped out of her car and asked the man what was wrong. "I feel terrible," he explained. "I accidentally hit this hare and killed it."The blonde told the man not to worry. She knew what to do. She went to her car trunk and pulled out a spray can. She walked over to the limp, dead hare, and sprayed the contents of the can onto the hare.Miraculously, the hare came to life, jumped up, waved its paw at the two people and hopped down the road.Ten feet away the hare stopped, turned around, waved at the two people again, hopped down the road; another 10 feet, turned, waved, and hopped another 10 feet, turned and waved and repeated this again and again until it was out of sight. The man was astonished. He couldn't figure out what substance could be in the woman's spray can! He ran over to the woman and demanded, "What was in your spray can? What did you spray onto that hare?"The woman turned the can around so that the man could read the label. It said:"Hair Spray - Restores Life to Dead Hair. Adds Permanent Wave."

FUN,FUN,FUN!
These pictures were taken the week of Papaw & Sasa's visit. We went to Byrd park to feed the ducks and let Maddie rider her new bike. Sasa and Maddie made a gingerbread house for Easter. Nobody really knows how much of the candy and icing Maddie ate. She used some pretty ingenious & persuasive trickery and techniques of distraction. Needless to say she was pretty hiper after it was all said and done!

Riding bikes with the Kempffer boys
Maddie's just getting into riding her new "Barbie" bike. She had a hard time keeping up with Ben and Sam. Sammers little legs peddle pretty fast!

JESUS STOLE MY THUNDER!
YES, EASTER FELL ON MY BIRTHDAY....I guess 34 years has nothing on his rising from the dead so I'll give him that :) The kids had a blast decorting and finding eggs and I got to open presents. Good times!

We hit the open road for a trip to Columbus!
HOME SWEET HOME!
First stop, the Corizzo's...if you've never been to the Corizzo's for "Sunday Dinner" I think if you look at the faces of the kids in the group pictures of them with my parents they will evoke the different emotions you might find. I thought they were funny as I went through them for the blog. Can't you just feel the love!

Maddie's Big Birthday Party!
"All Fired Up"
4 boys and 7 girls, a big party for a 5 year old. All of the kids were very polite, sweet and so well behaved. Matt and I got a kick out of watching and listening to their interaction as they painted their choice of ceramic. We had 7 cats, 2 robots, a car and a turtle...1 guess to who did the cats! Matt provided lots of entertainment as we played charades for some time filler. He does a mean monkey impersonation.

Maddie's Birthday
Maddie enjoys spreading her birthday out over several days. These pictures are of her actual birthday night (she got a bike among other things!). Papaw and Sasa brought cupcakes to Maddie's school the very next day for a small class party. Unfortunately I was not there to capture the moment. Do you think she might be just a little spoiled?

A VISIT TO COLONIAL WILLIAMSBURG
Greetings! This is my first attempt to create a blog spot. I am hoping to diligently update this as we make new memories with our family. We'll see how this all works out :) Recently we took a trip to Colonial Williamsburg. It was Maddie's birthday and Papaw and Sasa had made the trip up from Columbus for a visit. It was a beautiful day and we had a wonderful time.
