THE VIEW THAT NAMED THE CITY

RICHMOND, VA

This weekend we spent Saturday walking around the city.

SONGFEST

Here are a few pictures from Maddie's school "Songfest". Her class sang about 8 songs they have practiced throughout the year. She did a great job!

MOTHER'S DAY!

We spent a wonderful day at Maymont with Maddie and her friend Emma Kate. Maddie got me a very pretty silver cuff bracelet. Earlier this week she informed me out of nowhere, on her way to school that I "would definitely not be getting a bracelet for Mother's Day" so surprise I got a bracelet! So much for secrets.
A funny story about the fountain...Maddie and Emma Kate ran ahead of us to see the fountain and saw some people throw in some change. Well Maddie screams across the park "mama we need some money" I said Maddie I dont have any change, she said "well do you have cash?" Matt and I laughed. She used to say this when she was like 1 1/2 at the store and if you didn't she would ask for your credit card.

ANOTHER FUNNY ONE:

A Bishop was visiting in the home of two Ward members, a newlywed couple. At the garden apartment where they lived it was obvious from the giggling inside that someone was at home, but no answer came to his repeated knocks, he even called out to let them know it was he at the door.
Everything had gone silent. Then he took out a business card and wrote "Revelation 3:20" on the back of it and stuck it in the door. The following Sunday his card was placed in one of the tithing envelopes and given to one of his councilors who in turn returned it to the Bishop. Added to the card was this cryptic message, "Genesis 3:10." Reaching for his Bible to check out the citation, he broke up ingales of laughter. Revelation 3:20 begins "Behold, I stand at the door and knock."
Genesis 3:10 reads, "I heard your voice in the garden and I was afraid for I was naked."
